Drums

This talented drummer from Rhode Island has been playing professionally for 20 years. His career began at the age of 16, playing drums in his high school marching band. He was quickly promoted to co-captain of the drum line. After graduating, he joined a working top- 40 band, playing various shows and weddings, keeping him busy, while gaining experience playing a wide range of musical styles. He added to his versatility by also playing in a variety of popular original projects, and studio sessions.

In his pursuit to better his career and further his knowlege of his instrument, he moved to California to attend Musicians Institute. There, David studied under famous instructors such as: Joe Pocaro , and Ralph Humphrey. He became professionally trained in Rock, Jazz, Big Band, and Latin drum styles. He graduated with honors, and also met his future business partner, fellow student Brian Spaun. After graduating from M.I., he played in several successful original and cover projects in California, making his visit here, permanent. It was at this time he and Brian Spaun decided to go into business together, and they created Spaun Drum Company. Spaun Drums manufactures custom, professional-grade drum sets, sold nation wide in stores and in catalogs [shameless plug]. And is played by the drummers of National recording acts such as; Pink, and Brad Paisley.

David's ability to play a variety of styles, continues to keep him in demand. Most currently performing with "The Johnny James Band", a popular country/rock group, and in addition to that , he's been busy for the past few years with Lizann, Sean, and Scott playing drums for their Top-4o group " Sugar Box". He was their first choice when selecting the perfect drummer for Dog n Butterfly.
