Always in the spot light, no one's
exactly sure when Lizann first started singing, but it wasn't long after she began talking at
16 months. Lizann was able to sing along with her mother at the piano before she was big enough
to reach the keys. This multi-talented performer who's singing, acting and dancing abilities
surfaced early, received her first formal training when she began studying classical ballet,
at the tender age of 5. By the time she was in her teens, while still continuing her ballet
training, Lizann began formally studying acting and voice. She performed her way through many
community theater productions, school musicals and plays, and even singing in numerous choirs.
With her ability to sing, act and dance, Lizann was a triple threat, and a favorite featured
artist at countless community festivals, productions, cable programs, and private events.
An honorary member of the Thespian Society, Lizann received awards and recognition for her
stage performances...but most notably for her huge voice...
Lizann began song writing at age 18,
and in college, formed the local rock group 13th Hour, a successful original band that was
well received at local concerts and featured on college radio. Performing in several top
40 bands at this time as well, she began refining her ability to mimic popular vocal artists.
Lizann studied opera for 3 years, under the private instruction of Donna Nesheim, vocal
director of the music department of Whittier College, and also received Pop and Rock vocal
training from famous Hollywood voice coach Elizabeth Sabine. Eventually Lizann formed the
band "Daddy's Girl", a successful commercial pop/rock project, featuring many of her original
songs. Later re-named "West", the band was featured repeatedly on K.L.O.S. radio, and headlined
venues like the Coach House, Galaxy Theater, and El Rey Theater. West opened for acts like;
Fleetwood Mac, Pat Benetar, Bad Company, and R.E.O. Speedwagon... and performed in front of
thousands at Block Buster Pavilion.
Throughout her career, Lizann's loud and powerful voice was often compared to Ann Wilson, the
lead vocalist of the band "Heart". Working as a session vocalist, Lizann's appeared on countless
CD's, and demos for other artists and producers, while continuing her prolific song writing. Now a
voice instructor, and lead singer of several working cover groups, Lizann decided to take advantage
of her Ann Wilson comparisons, and in 2004, became the Brain Child and Creator of... Dog n Butterfly - The Ultimate Heart Tribute.
